Rooms & Equipment for In-house Courses

The number of participants on the course will determine the rooms and equipment needed.

For a course with up to 8 people, participants will work as one team on the main consulting simulation and skills development sessions. For larger courses (up to a maximum of 16 participants) participants will do their preparation for these sessions in 2 teams in 2 different rooms.

Each team in turn will have the opportunity to observe, analyse and then run a number of client meetings designed to illustrate the use of consulting skills and techniques and to allow participants to learn, practise and fine-tune the practical application of a range of techniques and approaches. The course facilitator (our consultant) will be the "client" in these meetings. This ensures each participant has the opportunity to receive personal feedback to help develop their consulting style and performance. Each of our tutors is a practising management consultant with a large client base and can draw on recent practical experience of handling real-life situations with clients.

Larger courses (up to 24 people)

We use a 2-day timetable for in-house courses. If you have a particularly large group (up to a maximum of 24 people) we can run the course over 3 days using a modified course structure: half the course (say, 12 people) attends the Day 1 timetable on the first day, the other half (the other 12 people) attends the Day 1 timetable on the second day, and the entire course (up to 24 people) then attends the Day 2 timetable on the third day of the course. This way we ensure that even on large in-house courses participants still have the opportunity to practise and receive feedback on their consulting techniques in small groups.

 


Participants Rooms and Equipment for In-house courses

Up to 8 people:

2-DAY COURSE

MAIN ROOM with natural light (ie. windows to let in outside daylight) and large enough to seat all participants in a 'U' shape or boardroom style.

DATA PROJECTOR and screen

FLIP CHART with flip chart paper and flip chart or whiteboard pens

If the room is big enough, a whiteboard is also useful to have (but not essential)

Up to 16 people:

2-DAY COURSE

MAIN ROOM with natural light (ie. windows to let in outside daylight) and large enough to seat all 16 participants at tables in groups in "clusters", "islands", "cabaret" or "cafe" style (eg. 4 x groups of 4 people).

SYNDICATE ROOM large enough to seat half the participants (8 people) plus the tutor at a large table (eg. a boardroom table, banquet table, square arrangement of trestle tables). Please note that for a group this size we need 2 rooms in total - ONE main room and ONE syndicate room which will be used simultaneously during the course.

DATA PROJECTOR and screen in MAIN ROOM

2 X FLIP CHARTS with flip chart paper and flip chart or whiteboard pens (one flip chart in MAIN ROOM and one in the SYNDICATE ROOM)

If the MAIN ROOM is big enough, a whiteboard is also useful to have (but not essential)

Up to 24 people:

2-DAY COURSE run over 3 days as described above

MAIN ROOM with natural light (ie. windows to let in outside daylight) and large enough to seat all 24 participants at tables in groups in "clusters", "islands", "cabaret" or "cafe" style (eg. 5 x groups of 5 people).

2 x SYNDICATE ROOMS each large enough to seat up to 8 people (plus the tutor) at a large table (eg. a boardroom table, banquet table, square arrangement of trestle tables). Please note that for a group this size we need 3 rooms in total - ONE main room and TWO syndicate rooms which will be used simultaneously during the course.

3 x FLIP CHARTS with flip chart paper and flip chart or whiteboard pens (one flip chart in MAIN ROOM and one in EACH SYNDICATE ROOM)
